National Conference 2008You will receive a warm welcome from the Committee at the annual NWR national Conference in Bath from 5th to 7th September 2008. Bath, being a world heritage site is the perfect place for you to come and take part in and enjoy seeing one of the loveliest cities in the world. Our theme: IS THE PAST OUR FUTURE? In Bath, the most famous Georgian city in the world, this is very much the case. Its fame lies in its healing hot springs and wonderful architecture. Today we have a new Spa and a prestigious hospital for the treatment of rheumatic diseases. We are looking to a future of more facilities to include the Dyson College of Design and Technology on the site of old engineering works and possibly a casino, which the Georgians would have loved. Useful Documents:-
Delegates’ first choice of accommodation may not be available at this stage and standard rooms are running out. For payment options available by standing order click here. Our speakers will explore our theme in a varied, lively and entertaining way. We are arranging talks which include a journalist's perspective on how to help our children understand the events that have shaped our world and will colour theirs. We hope to take a look at the world of fashion and how it has evolved with inspiration often coming from previous eras. Are you wearing anything today which would have been 'in' in the 60s? We can also promise you a treat after Saturday night's dinner: We shall be 'Undressing Mr. Darcy'! Enjoy a variety of Sunday workshops on site with a varied programme, or in Bath, where you will have the opportunity to see some of its attractions and absorb its ambience and architecture. What better place could there be than a university campus perched high on a hill with excellent sporting facilities and lovely walks all within a ten minute bus ride from the city? Also there are many exquisite villages and places of interest steeped in history to explore in the surrounding area. You may book extra nights through the university and make your weekend into a mini break. We hope you enjoy the pictures of our city and we look forward to seeing you in Bath 5th-7th September 2008 and be sure to book early - places are limited. If you want to book extra nights while at the conference click here for more information. For more information contact us. For anyone wanting to pay by standing order for other residential options please contact the office. |
