The NWR North West Region is divided into eight areas each of which contains a number of groups as set out below.
If you cannot find a group near you please get in touch as new groups are being formed all the time.
Local Organisers - please let us know if we do not have the right details for your group. We would like to make this feature as useful as possible!

Egremont We meet fortnightly rotating Tuedays, Wednesdays or Thursday. We've never won any prizes for various NWR competitions but we still consider ourselves an outgoing & lively group. Our discussions vary from the light-hearted to the serious and occasionally we have a speaker. We've had great days out in our lovely Lake District either visiting places of interest or walking.

Eccleston & Windle Wednesday Formally St Helens. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Weds of each month. We have a reading and a scrabble group.

Formby Mon-Thurs rotation We meet fortnightly in each others homes on a rotating basis starting on Monday and ending on a Thursday. We have discussions, speakers, educational outings, meals out and an annual summer walk. We welcome all new members by meeting for coffee in the village and by providing a lift to their 1st meeting.

Chester Grosvenor Tuesday We meet every second Tuesday. We are a thriving group with 20+ members. Our programme is varied with a good mix of discussions, theatre visits, social events and book reviews.

Hawarden Monday We meet fortnightly on a Mon. We are a lively, long-established and friendly group with over 20 members. We have discussion nights, quizzes, a summer walk & garden party. We organise trips to the Theatre and have food themed nights. All stimulating and fun. We also have a book group that meets every 6 weeks.

Appleton We meet fortnightly on various evenings of the week. We have a dinner group.

Bolton Varies We meet alternating Mon to Thurs. We have an average of four meetings a month. We have a book group, a lunch group that meets on a Friday and a theatre/cinema group.

Culcheth Thursday Culcheth NWR meets on alternate Thursday evenings in members' homes. We have about thirty members and we enjoy discussions, outings, food and wine and much more. We also have a thriving monthly Book group.

Knutsford We meet fortnightly rotating tuesdays, wednesdays or thursdays. we enjoy ourselves immensely with a varied range of activities in our homes and outside with walks, theatre trips and lectures. we also have a book club. come and join us!

Lymm Fortnightly on Wednesdays A small informal group who meet approximately every fortnight during school term time.

Runcorn/Frodsham Third Wednesday of every month As well as a varied monthly programme we have a thriving social network which includes trips to theatre and days out. We have links to local choir, walking and dance groups. The Book Group attends events run by Halton library, such as workshops and national events.

Poynton1 Wednesday Has well-established book group with borrowing scheme from local libraries. Has several recent new members .

Poynton3 We meet every 2 - 3 weeks on variable days. We are a thriving, friendly group with a varied range of activities including a supper club and a book group.

South Manchester fortnightly a 'mature' group with 24 members currently, who meet approximately every two weeks in members homes and in other venues. We also have a lunch group.

Timperley fortnightly Lively group with varied individual interests. Meetings range from detailed discussions of topical issues to quizzes, games evenings, theatre trips and speakers. Also monthly book and walking groups, weekly swimming and lunch groups, and social dinner party circles and pub evenings.

Wilmslow1 Monday Occasional meetings on other evenings or weekends - for visits etc. Fortnightly meetings attended by around 10 or 12 of our members - to discuss, argue, read, listen and enjoy each other's company. Outside speakers and some visits also. Come and join us!

Wilmslow 4 Fortnightly Varied meetings in members homes and social events. AGM and summer party in July. Also a walking group every Wednesday morning.

Disley Monday We meet every other Monady during term time. We are a small group who have become good friends - we arrange visits to theatres, local sites of interest, enjoy themed evenings and have lots of discussion. We occasionally have speakers & walks in summer ending with a pub meal.

Glossop We meet fortnightly on a Mon - Thurs rotation. We have a Reading Group and a Theatre group.

Hayfield Tuesday We meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month. We are a friendly, lively group based in the village of Hayfield.

Macclesfield We meet every other week throughout the year with some additional walks in the summer. We also have other varied outings e.g. a theatre trip, a recent trip to London, a trip to a health spa, a book group that meets about every 6 weeks. We are a thriving healthy group and we welcome new members.

Marple alternate Mondays, term time only A very friendly and sociable group that wecomes new members. Also have a book group.
