The NWR South East Region is divided into nine areas each of which contains a number of groups as set out below.
If you cannot find a group near you please get in touch as new groups are being formed all the time.

SE01

Alton Wednesday Small, very friendly group with both new and longstanding members. Varied programme including annual barbecue and country walk.

Andover Varies Alternate Wednesday Programmes include: research, quiz, food, topical; book club meeting each term; partners welcomed to new year's party and summer al fresco. From Jan 2008 will meet on the 4th Tues of every month.

Basingstoke Various Longstanding friendly group with lively varied programme which includes researched topics, speakers, "no-holds-barred" discussions, pub lunches, gallery visits and much much more...

Bramley Thursday A varied programme of meetings and outings.

Hook We meet fortnightly on a Tues, Weds or Thurs evening. As well as regular evening meetings we arrange outings to historic places. (E.g. Bat Cave and Hawk Conservancy) We have a daytime walking group and a dining circle.

Medstead Four Marks Tuesday We are a smallish group with monthly evening meetings. We span two villages in the GU34 area. Our calendar usually includes a meal out in spring and a walk in the summer, with a good mixture of other subjects. Although fairly long established, new members would be made very welcome.

Odiham We meet once a month on varying days of the week. We are a friendly local group with a varied programme and very sociable. We have a lunch group, a book exchange and have summer days out.

Sherfield-on-Loddon Thursday once a month We try to have a variety of meetings each year which comprise of discussions, book evenings, speakers, socials with husbands/partners, rambles and theatre trips.

Tadley Variable days We meet twice a month on variable days. Varied programme, annual Safari Supper.

Farnborough We meet fortnightly and would be pleased to welcome prospective new members.

Farnham Tuesday We meet twice each month on Tuesdays at 8pm. We sometimes have an outside speaker or join other local groups for an evening . We take part in national events and have two subgroups, which meet once a month, a book group on Tuesdays, and a Friday group which goes on trips.

Godalming Godalming group Meets: various evenings, Monday - Thursdays. Details: Small group with varied programme including serious and frivolous discussions, themed meals and quizzes, outings and theatre trips. Includes book group. New members always welcome.

Guildford Tuesday We are a friendly and sociable group, with a lively programme including discussions, outings and visiting speakers. We have a social gathering every month (partners welcome but not obligatory) varying from pot luck suppers and themed parties to barbecues with garden games. Most of us are in our 50s and 60s, but new members of any age would be welcomed. We also have a Book Group & Walking Group.

Horsley Fortnightly Also a bridge group and book group.

Woking Wednesday We meet fortnightly on a Weds from 8-10.30pm (except Aug). We have planning meetings twice a year for members to choose meeting topics. Countdown quizzes, Book Reviews, Themed Collage Making & Pre-Christmas Meals are popular. On other recent evenings we have had a murder mystery evening, investigated a charity, learnt a new skill in 10 mins, tried our hand at editing and wre invited to a calligrapher's studio.

Burgh Heath Tuesday We meet Tuesday mornings during term time. We have a book club that meets once a month and frequent organised walks. We also arrange trips to the Theatre.

Dittons Esher Tuesday

Hayes Varies We meet fortnightly on a Monday - Thursday rotation. We are an active group with walks, theatre visits, parties, dinner parties and lots of discussion.

Kingston-on-Thames / New Malden Fortnightly, Mon to Thurs on rotation. We are a friendly group with some daytime meetings. Coffee, bookswaps, summer BBQ and winter meal with partners, theatre group. Occasional Visits to places of interest. Mens group (women sometimes invited!)

Merton park Varied nights, approx every 3 weeks Merton Park group welcomes new members. In addition to our regular meetings, the book circle meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Some energetic members enjoy a monthly Saturday walking group. We also have occasional extra outings, garden parties; visits to galleries and lunchtime get togethers. New ideas are always welcome.

Sutton & Carshalton We meet on rotating days of the week. We have a book group as well as regular meetings.

Twickenham St Margarets Our group was formed in the 1970s and still has some of the original members. We have supported each other through illness and other personal crises and are a very friendly and welcoming group having recently attracted several new members. We enjoy a mixture of light-hearted and more serious meetings with occasional outings.

Bookham Wednesday fortnightly Meetings range over discussions, research, speakers, food and outside trips (especially in the summer term). Members like to attend National Conferences and Regional Day Lunches and Workshops. We participate in the National Telephone Treasure Trail every year. There is also a Gardening Gang who meet to look at and talkabout gardens.

Dorking Tuesday "We are a long-established, friendly group meeting on alternate Tuesdays. We also arrange monthly walks and, in August, days out. Some of us also belong to an informal Arts Discussion Group."

Ewhurst Tuesdays We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 8pm. Our programme includes discussions, research, quizzes etc. Some meetings include food and drink relating to the subject of the meeting. Trips to the theatre and places of interest are arranged. We hold a summer bbq and Xmas party each year for members and their partners.

Horsham Thursday Main Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month and Book Group on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

Redhill & Reigate Fortnightly We are a lively and friendly group who meet fortnightly (Monday to Thursday) at 8pm, in addition there are coffee mornings at local cafes or garden centres every third week. Our programme consists of discussions, fun evenings (quizzes etc), food and drinks nights and speakers. Trips to the theatre, cinema and places of interest in Surrey and London are also arranged.

Bishops Waltham Once a month on Wednesdays. Our meetings are from 10:00 to 12:00 in each others houses.

Chandlers Ford Eastleigh B Wednesday Chandler's Ford B is a lively group, small but dynamic. We meet fortnightly on Wednesdays in our members' houses. Our programme is varied with many lively discussions on topical subjects and occasional speakers. We also have a thriving book group. We have social events with partners several times a year and a "birthday club" which meets regularly for pub lunches.

Chandlers Ford Eastleigh D We have social meetings with partners ranging from wine tasting, dinner, picnics and barbecues usually at the weekends once a term. Chandler's Ford D is a large and dynamic group. There are many offshoots that give a variety and spice to our lives. Discussions and talks can be 'in house' or have a speaker. They range from fascinating and interesting to awe inspiring and fun. Two book clubs catering for readers who meet once a month and also the 'Relaxed Readers'. Theatre club reviews what's on in the surrounding area and arranges trips that can include partners. It has offshoots to the cinema or even a video at home. The day group is just that and arranges visits to interesting places, concerts, walks and get-togethers in our homes. Supper club organises a different hostess and guests three times a year. A delightful and delicious way to get to know each other even better.

Dibden Purlieu Varies We meet fortnightly on Mondays to Thursdays. We have regular discussion meetings along with speakers and current affairs evenings.

Hedge End Wednesday We meet, usually, on the first Wednesday of the month. Our programme consists of talks, debates and discussions. Every year we try to arrange a theatre trip and a guided walk. We also have a very active book group which meets regularly.

Hythe Waterside Monday - Friday on rotation. Meetings alternate between topic/speaker and current affairs. Meetings start at 8 pm. We are a group that has been active for over 22 years. As well as having a varied programme, we also share lots of enjoyable social activites. We would like to encourage new members so we don't get too complacent!

Marchwood Tuesday We meet the 3rd Tuesday each month except in August. We have regular events during the year, eg pub walk and a meal, a games evening, and we always seem to have lots of meeting involving eating and drinking! We take part in the Telephone Trail every year (some years being more successful than others!). We also have a thriving Diners Club, and we often have events with our 'other halves'.

Medina (Isle of Wight) Tues & Weds We meet on alternate Tuesday & Wednesday evenings every fortnight. We are a friendly group and welcome members from all over the Island.

Park Gate Wednesday

Southampton Varied We meet fortnightly, mainly term time on alternate days Mon - Thurs at 8pm. We are a lively and supportive group with long standing and new members. We join in with national events and have our own annual events such as a summer evening walk and various trips. Events involving food and drink are always popular!

Southsea Monday There are currently 13 lively, intelligent & sociable women in our group. It's well attended because we get on really well & all look forward seeing each other at our meetings . These are held on Mondays fortnightly at 7:30pm & we take it in turn to host in our own homes. Some members are in a book group. Apart from that we also meet up regularly in local teashops & restaurants for afternoon tea. Our local organiser can be contacted via e-mail using the link.

Bognor Regis Thursday We are a large and thriving group, with a history going back over 30 years! We meet fortnightly during term times on Thursdays at 8pm. We take part in national themed evenings and the Telephone Treasure Trail, and also have regular social events: Progressive dinner, Spring Walk, Summer barbecue, and Christmas Dinner. We occasionally organise outings and theatre visits. Two LOs each year eases the load and helps create a very varied programme which always includes a number of speakers as well as ideas from members. Speakers are often relatives and friends of members who have knowledge of specialist subjects. We take it in turns to host the meetings in our own homes and welcome new members. We have a separate monthly book group. We are also interested in hearing from nearby groups� and maybe swapping speakers and info on successful evenings?

Chichester Monday We meet on the 3rd Monday of every month. We enjoy members' discussion evenings, book discussions, walking in the summer, and always sign up for the NWR themed evenings.

Shoreham by Sea We meet fortnightly on variable evenings. We are a friendly group that loves a good discussion. We enjoy quizzes and outings. Food events are very popular! We also have a book club that meets twice a year.

Steyning Fortnightly on Tuesdays 8pm We offer a varied programme - serious and funny, social events, extravaganzas - food and drink themes are particularly popular! Occasional guest speakers. Two planning meetings per year. Currently 14 members who take it in turns to host the meetings in their homes. All in all a very jolly bunch!

West Chiltington Alternate Thursday A well established, lively and welcoming group of some 24 members. On average about 15 of us get together on alternate Thursday evenings in each others homes. Our varied programme of topics, including the occasional speaker, is memeber lead and from eight till late can usually be relied upon to provoke discussion and debate. We enjoy sharing food with each other and on occasions even invite partners. We take advantage of everything this lovely county has to offer which can include walks, garden visits, trips to the theatre, the races, treasure trails and visits to local organisations.

Worthing Broadwater We meet fortnightly alternating Monday and Tuesday evenings. Our members enjoy discussions, outings and social events.

Cuckmere We are a small friendly group who meet in members homes during the winter months but spend as much time as we can outside during the summer months. Our current programme includes a visit to the Houses of Parliament, BBQ on the beach, Theatre trip, picnic and garden visit.

Eastbourne Monday We are a friendly group who welcome new members and meet fortnightly on Monday evenings. Maidstone Meetings are fortnightly: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thur. They are a mixture of stimulating discussions, social events like quizzes, treasure hunts, walks and meals out; a couple of speakers and theatre trips annually; new things like Pilates, Tai Chi, Ikebana. We have started a quarterly book group and monthly lunches (with no discussion topic)

Canterbury Thursday Canterbury NWR is a thriving group of 28 kind and enthusiastic women of various ages and backgrounds. We meet fortnightly on Thursday evenings. We organise talks and discussions, theatre trips, walks, visitors, treasure hunts and quizzes. We also arrange occasional weekend day trips. We have three sub-groups which meet monthly: Book Group, Diners Club and Video Club.

Folkestone Wednesday Group formed 2003, always a warm welcome for new members . We meet fortnightly on a Wednesday at 8pm.

Herne Bay Varied programme and book group.

Isle of Sheppey Fortnightly alternate Mondays or Tuesdays. We regularly have between twelve and fourteen members attending.

Whitstable Fortnightly on Thursdays We currently have 17 members. Our programme is varied and stimulating. Recently we have researched Vietnam, compared daily newspapers and consigned our pet hates to room 101!

We occasionally organise outings and theatre visits. Two LOs each year eases the load and helps create a very varied programme which always includes a number of speakers as well as ideas from members. Speakers are often relatives and friends of members who have knowledge of specialist subjects. We take it in turns to host the meetings in our own homes and welcome new members. Chichester	Monday	We meet on the 3rd Monday of every month. We enjoy members' discussion evenings, book discussions, walking in the summer, and always sign up for the NWR themed evenings. • Programme of Events (PDF)
Shoreham by Sea		We meet fortnightly on variable evenings. We are a friendly group that loves a good discussion. We enjoy quizzes and outings. Food events are very popular! We also have a book club that meets twice a year. • Programme of Events (PDF)
Steyning	Fortnightly on Tuesdays 8pm	We offer a varied programme - serious and funny, social events, extravaganzas - food and drink themes are particularly popular! Occasional guest speakers. Two planning meetings per year. Currently 14 members who take it in turns to host the meetings in their homes. All in all a very jolly bunch!
West Chiltington	Alternate Thursday	A well established, lively and welcoming group of some 24 members. On average about 15 of us get together on alternate Thursday evenings in each others homes. Our varied programme of topics, including the occasional speaker, is memeber lead and from eight till late can usually be relied upon to provoke discussion and debate. We enjoy sharing food with each other and on occasions even invite partners. We take advantage of everything this lovely county has to offer which can include walks, garden visits, trips to the theatre, the races, treasure trails and visits to local organisations.
Worthing Broadwater		We meet fortnightly alternating Monday and Tuesday evenings. Our members enjoy discussions, outings and social events.

Cuckmere		We are a small friendly group who meet in members homes during the winter months but spend as much time as we can outside during the summer months. Our current programme includes a visit to the Houses of Parliament, BBQ on the beach, Theatre trip, picnic and garden visit.
Eastbourne	Monday	We are a friendly group who welcome new members and meet fortnightly on Monday evenings. Maidstone		Meetings are fortnightly: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thur. They are a mixture of stimulating discussions, social events like quizzes, treasure hunts, walks and meals out; a couple of speakers and theatre trips annually; new things like Pilates, Tai Chi, Ikebana. We have started a quarterly book group and monthly lunches (with no discussion topic)

Canterbury	Thursday	Canterbury NWR is a thriving group of 28 kind and enthusiastic women of various ages and backgrounds. We meet fortnightly on Thursday evenings. We have three sub-groups which meet monthly: Book Group, Diners Club and Video Club.
Folkestone	Wednesday	Group formed 2003, always a warm welcome for new members . We meet fortnightly on a Wednesday at 8pm.
Herne Bay		Varied programme and book group.
Isle of Sheppey	Fortnightly alternate Mondays or Tuesdays.	We regularly have between twelve and fourteen members attending.
