Women in Street Names Project

Your Street Name Here 2

One of our members, Carrie de Silva from the Nantwich and Audlem group in Cheshire, launched a project at The Women's Library to highlight streets named after women (and how few there are), and to produce short biographies of some of the women named.

If you would be interested in getting involved then please contact Carrie for more details.  She'd love to collate local knowledge from across the UK.  For more information please click on this link

Can I just ask, is this blog regarding renaming streets after women, a personal thing or is it being promoted by NWR? I ask because we are a non campaigning group, and we promote ourselves as a non political and non religious group to appeal to all women, so actively promoting whatever campaign would be against our organisations' principals.

Sounds like a campaign to raise awareness of all women.
