South West Area Lunch - CANCELLED
Date: Sat 28 Mar 2020 00:00.
We regret that this event has now been cancelled in line with government advice to stop all unnecessary social contact.
We are hosting an exciting lunch event being held in Cornwall at the traditional Cornish Jamaica Inn Hotel on Bodmin Moor where Daphne du Maurier wrote some
of her novels.
The day’s event will be focused on Daphne with a specialist speaker talking to us about her books.
The day starts with your arrival at the venue for coffee and biscuits, while you are entertained with tales of the ghosts and other stories associated with the inn.
There is a small museum with many interesting historic pieces including writing equipment used by Daphne.
There will be a raffle with a number of exciting prizes including a two night stay for two people in a luxury chalet with breathtaking views across the South Cornwall
coast to the sea.
There is an irresistibly delicious and varied lunch menu to select from, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
After lunch our du Maurier expert, Lynn Goold, will speak for a hour and then answer your questions on this fascinating author.
The hotel also has an excellent farm shop for local produce and crafts, alongside a gift shop for you to buy something to remind you of your day.
If you would like to make a weekend of the event with husbands or partners, we have arranged a special offer from the hotel to stay over Friday and/or Saturday
night at reduced rates including breakfast.
Quote: NWR2020 when booking.
There are many walks over Bodmin Moor starting at this newly refurbished venue.
So, please fill in your invite, selecting your meal choices and return the forms with a cheque enclosed.
The day starts at 10:00 am on Saturday 28th March and we look forward to having your company to enjoy the day with us from the Roseland group in Cornwall.
