Our group meet once a fortnight usually in each other’s homes which makes for a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Twice a year we have Planning Meetings, where we arrange our programme for the forthcoming 6 months. This usually comprises of guest speakers coming to talk on a wide range of topics which have included guide dogs for the blind (including two lovely guide dogs), the Probation Service, performing plays written by a member of the NWR, local historians and discussing topical issues and matters that are important to us. We also plan evenings at the local theatre in Crewe and also to The New Vic in Newcastle under Lyme, not too far from Wistaston. During the longer evenings we also have enjoyed garden visits as well as evening walks around the local area, the latter, which are usually followed by an evening meal in a local hostelry. Very enjoyable.
